This policy explains how Clerkly handles information through its websites, WhatsApp business assistant, private business dashboards and Clerkly Marketplace. The service is operated by Ahmed Nazeem under the Clerkly / Clerkly AI name. The brand name does not represent a registered company.

Marketplace listings are public. Buyer and seller contact details are shared through enquiries. Phone verification confirms access to a number; it does not verify business registration, identity, material ownership or quality.

1. Information we collect

Only provide content you are authorized to share. Avoid unnecessary personal information, identity documents, bank credentials or private addresses in listing text and photos. Uploaded photographs may contain embedded metadata; do not assume metadata is removed.

2. Why we use information

We use information to verify access to phone numbers, maintain signed-in sessions, operate listings and enquiries, connect buyers and sellers, provide bookkeeping and document features, prevent abuse, investigate errors and respond to support or privacy requests. We do not sell personal information to data brokers or use your submitted business records for our advertising.

3. Public content and contact sharing

Anyone can browse available public listings without signing in. Public listing information includes your account name, photographs, descriptions, price, quantities and general location. Use a business name if you do not want your personal name displayed. Information in public listings can be copied by others.

When an enquiry is submitted, the buyer and seller can see each other's account name and verified phone number through that enquiry, together with its message, quantity and status. Your phone number is not included in the public listing feed. Information you voluntarily include in listing descriptions or photos is public regardless of this setting.

Marketplace records are stored separately from shop ledgers. Posting a listing, submitting an enquiry or completing a marketplace sale does not automatically publish private shop records or update shop stock or finances.

4. Providers and processing locations

Providers operate under their own terms and retention practices. Processing may take place outside your state or country; we do not promise India-only storage or processing. Authorized service operators may access information when needed to maintain the service, assist you, investigate abuse or handle requests. We may also disclose information where required by applicable law.

5. Cookies and sessions

The marketplace uses an essential session cookie named clerkly_marketplace to keep you signed in for up to 30 days, unless you sign out or the session is otherwise invalidated. Clerkly stores a hash of the session token on its server. Private business dashboards use their own access controls. SMS/CAPTCHA providers may use their own cookies or browser storage for verification and security. Rejecting essential cookies can prevent sign-in from working.

6. Retention

We keep account, listing, enquiry and business records while needed to operate the features you use, handle requests and maintain service integrity. Marketplace challenge validity is limited, but expiry does not mean every underlying log is immediately deleted. Verification records, rate-limit records and hashes of used verification tokens may remain for security purposes. Business records and uploaded files do not currently have a universal automatic deletion schedule.

Removing a marketplace listing takes it off public browsing; it is not a promise of immediate deletion of its database record, photographs, enquiry history or backups. Enquiry counterparties and external providers may retain their own copies. Contact us for deletion requests; we do not currently offer automated account deletion.

7. Your choices and requests

You can browse without an account, choose what to post, edit or pause your own listings, remove eligible listings, and sign out. You can ask to access, correct or delete information, close your account, withdraw permission for optional processing, or raise a privacy concern by emailing the contact below. Include the account phone number and describe the request; never send an OTP, password or API key. We may verify control of the account before acting.

We will review requests and explain any information we need to retain for applicable legal obligations, security or unresolved transactions. Deletion cannot recall copies already received by another user. Stopping essential account processing may require closing the account or discontinuing the relevant service.

8. Security, age and updates

We use access controls and verification checks, but no online service can guarantee perfect security. Keep private shop links, credentials and devices secure. The service is intended for adults acting for themselves or an authorized business and is not intended for users under 18. Contact us if a child's information has been provided.

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies this version. Significant changes will be communicated through the service or an available contact channel where appropriate.
